Do i REally need my air ducts cleaned?

Every situation is different. But the main reasons why your HVAC system should be cleaned are :

-If someone in the home struggles with allergies, asthma or unexplained illness and has not found relief from normal cleaning of the home.

-If there are excessive amounts of dust or other debris clogging the system and releasing particles into your airstream. This could simply happen if it has been many years since the system has been cleaned, if there was recent construction or remodeling in the home, or if there was smoke, fire, or water damage in the home.

-If you have noticed a significant decrease in the effieciency of your HVAC system (rooms not getting as hot or cold as they used to, furnace running for longer times, rising heating bills.

-If there is mold growth inside the system from water damage or mold in other areas of the house, or a problem with the HVAC system.

-If there are odors in the home that have not been eliminated by cleaning.

-If the ducts have been infested with insects or vermin.

In any case, before cleaning the ducts we always perform a video inspection to assess which services, if any, will be needed to make sure your family is breathing clean. If you don't need our services, we'll tell you, and give you reccomendations as to what is needed. See our duct cleaning process here.

What benefits can I expect to see after duct cleaning? Is it worth it?

We believe it is absolutely worth it. Every home is different, but many customers report some of the following:

  • A decrease in heating and/or cooling bills According to the US Department of Energy, dirty HVAC coils can INCREASE energy consumption by 30%! With such an increase you would see your investment returned in a matter of a few months.

  • Better health, sleep, and productivity A recent study revealed significant improvements in sleep and productivity for office workers when the air quality was improved. It stands to reason that the same would be true in your home.

  • Besides numerous studies proving the importance of indoor air, over 75% of our customers report noticeably cleaner air after cleaning.

But I see ads all of the time for an $89 dollar cleaning. WHy do you cost more?

The EPA and the National Air Duct Cleaners Association(NADCA) says that “duct cleaning services typically – but not always – range in cost from $450 to $1,000 per heating and cooling system, depending on the services offered, the size of the system to be cleaned, system accessibility, climactic region and level of contamination" It would be impossible for a company to stay in business if they were using the proper equipment, spending adequate time, and carrying the proper licensing and insurances while charging only $89, $99, or even $199. Many times these companies are not really cleaning the system (they call them "blow and go" companies) or will start at this low price and then end up charging hundreds or even thousands of dollars more at the end.

Why is dryer vent cleaning important?

According to U.S. Fire Administration, each year clothes dryers cause:

  • 2,900 home fires
  • 5 deaths
  • 100 injuries
  • $35 million in property loss

They further list "failure to clean" as the main cause of these structure fires. For this reason, we always reccomend a dryer vent cleaning in addition to a proper duct cleaning.

What makes your company any different?

There are several reputable HVAC companies to choose from in this area, but we try to offer the best service possible in a few ways:

  • We don't charge you for what you don't need. There are more important things in life than "making a buck"-like honesty. Sometimes we perform an inspection and find that the HVAC system in a home or business are already clean, or that there is another issue enitrely. In those cases, we inform the customer and refer them to another company that can help if needed.

We start every potential job with a photo inspection of the system so that you can see for yourself the problems we need to address. Then when the work is done we will provide you with a report showing pictures and or readings from before and after the cleaning.

  • We stand by our work, and our word. Sometimes things don't go as planned, and jobs end up being much harder than expected.(see our reviews for an example of this) We won't charge you more than we originally quoted for our services.

On top of that, we guarantee that the entire system will be visibly clean by NADCA standards. The before and after pictures prove it!

  • We treat our customers and our employees like we want to be treated. There are too many unfriendly people in this world to be unkind ourselves. We try our best to be patient, friendly, and kind to you, our customer, regardless of the circumstances. It is because of you, our customer, that we can provide for our families, so we are very greatful.

If one of our employees is at your house, they are paid well, treated well, and protected by proper insurance in case they get hurt and cannot work. They are well trained and given the proper equipment to do their job safely. Just ask them if they are happy working here, and let us know what they say!
